Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Supercars , Lamborghini Lamborghini Estoque Concept - Click above for a high-res gallery After a series of stories surfaced over the weekend reporting the demise of the Lamborghini Estoque , the supercar manufacturer has issued a statement addressing the rumors. According to Lamborghini, the Estoque has not been killed off, but it hasn't been approved for production either. The release continues to tow the company line that if a new model is added to the Lamborghini line-up, "a four door luxury performance saloon could be a logical product strategy." When the Estoque was revealed in Paris , the 500-horsepower, V10-powered all-wheel drive sedan was hailed as the automaker's first volume model - a daily driver that could conceivably sell between 2,000 and 3,000 units annually. Speculation of the Estoque's eminent arrival in 2011 was stoked when the company's R&D chief Maurizio Reggiani, said that a case was being made to VW's...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Sedans/Saloons , Lamborghini Click above for gallery of the Lamborghini Estoque Concept The worldwide collapse of car sales has hit everyone in the past six months, and super-expensive high-end cars are no exception. With no immediate signs of either a general economic recovery or an auto sales boost on the horizon, now hardly seems like the time to develop an all-new exotic sedan. With that in mind, Lamborghini reportedly has shelved plans to build the Estoque, which debuted as a concept at last fall's Paris Motor Show . Given the positive response it received, Lamborghini had started feasibility studies aimed at producing the new four-door. Instead, the company will focus on new versions of both the Gallardo and Murcielago, with a particular focus on weight reduction. R&D boss Maurizio Reggiani is also apparently rejecting calls for a dual clutch gearbox to replace the current e-gear automated manual. Reggiani calls the DCT "too smooth" and...

Filed under: Convertibles , Etc. , Marketing/Advertising , Supercars , Lamborghini , Lifestyle Having just returned from the well-heeled shores of Miami for last week's Kia Soul drive , we know that exotic machinery stacks up on the city's streets like so much cordwood. In fact, we saw upwards of ten newer Ferraris in the course of an afternoon's drive (not to mention untold Bentley Continentals and Porsche 911s) - but we didn't see a single Lamborghini during our entire stay. Not even a Jalpa. Well with both the housing market and the new car market in the dumpster, the developers at South of Fifth luxury condos and the folks at Lamborghini Miami are understandably keen to change that. As such, they've gone and teamed up to offer a "free" Gallardo Spyder with the purchase of an oceanfront luxury beachfront home. While South of Fifth isn't being so gauche as to announce the price of their properties, one look at the new digs on the company's swanky...

Filed under: Etc. , Lamborghini , Lifestyle Tim Cooper came up with a hideous set of pumps inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo . Now, a French designer at Subaru in Japan has come up with sneakers that pull their inspiration from the Lamborghini Reventon. They're a little blunt at the front, but otherwise -- and as one might expect -- they're sleek, angular, olive drab, and boast a healthy dose of carbon fiber trim. Check out that trick suspended heel, too. We're not likely to ever see a production version, but if Lamborghini did decide to offer them, we'd take these kicks over the Lamborghini cologne any day. Filed under: Videos , Supercars , Lamborghini Click above to watch Samuel Hubinette drift the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV after the jump Sam Hubinette is one lucky guy. The Crazy Swede gets sideways in an 800-horsepower Dodge Viper for his day job and does occasional stunt driving in his off time. Last year Lamborghini hired him to drift the Gallardo LP560-4 in the streets of Los Angeles for a commercial, and they must have liked it so much that they hired him again to burn rubber in the brand, brand new Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce in Germany. The video is the first we have seen of the car outside the show floor of the Geneva Motor Show , and while shorter than the Gallardo vid, it does at least provide a soundtrack for the upgraded V12 that's now producing 670 horsepower. Follow the jump to watch the video. Thanks for the tip, Saikou! Filed under: Supercars , Lamborghini Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster - Click above for high-res gallery Lamborghini has just released the first batch of official images showing its latest limited run special, the Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster , which follows the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The LP 650-4 Roadster is definitely not for those who deny their follicle deficiencies by wearing a rug on their head. With a top speed of 205 mph, anything not firmly connected to your scalp will be lost to the winds. The crew in Sant'Agata Bolognese have pumped some extra shots of espresso into this bull - the 6.5-liter V12 now produces 650 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels. That's enough to leave 62 mph in your wake after just 3.4 seconds. Lamborghini is only planning to crank out 50 of these roadsters at an as yet undisclosed price, which means the high-res images in our gallery below are likely the closest...
