Filed under: Hirings/Firings/Layoffs , Ford , Earnings/Financials Ford's CEO Alan Mulally took hope a tidy $13.57 million compensation package for his work in 2008, While that's a handsome sum, it represents a 37 percent cut of the $21.67 million he took home in 2007 - and that's before the ex-Boeing exec takes an additional 30 percent haircut for 2009. By comparison, General Motors' CEO Rick Wagoner and Chrysler's Bob Nardelli are slated to have salaries of $1 each, although both automakers have already received $17.4 billion in federal loans. In addition, Automotive News reports that the company will abolish merit raises for salaried workers in the U.S. (and in most of its global ops), kill off a worldwide incentive compensation program for 2008 and newer employees, and give no compensation to board members for 2009. In related news that's causing a bit of consternation, AN is reporting that Mulally and executive chairman Bill Ford will continue to use corporate...

Filed under: Economy , Videos , Ford Click above to watch video after the jump So, applications for Ford's Fiesta Movement closed last night, and AutoblogGreen got its entry in just under the buzzer. We're nothing if not slackers waiting for a deadline. With a few Lego props (our models didn't go into this much detail , though), a camera and iMovie, we thought we'd make some promises to Ford on how we'd treat their car should they give it to us for half a year as part of the Fiesta promotion . We think we covered everything: pirates vs. ninja, paparazzi, Yoda. Yup, that's about it. Check out the video after the jump and then watch more video entries for the competition over on YouTube . Filed under: Euro , Government/Legal , Ford , GM , Earnings/Financials , Opel , Vauxhall Despite the fact that Ford has yet to request any special funding from either the federal governments in the United States or abroad, the automaker has repeatedly said that it supports its competitors as they seek financial aid. According to Ford of Europe CEO John Fleming, "We have no objections to competitors asking governments for support in these very difficult times." While some might think that Ford would stand to benefit if its largest competitor went the way of the Dodo, in reality, it's much more complicated than that. Says Fleming, "I would rather take sales from competitors by having better products rather than them going out of business." Plus, there's the sticky supplier situation - the loss of an automaker or two could have a drastic impact on the already weak auto supplier industry. In lieu of propping up individual automakers on a country-by-country basis...

Filed under: In the Autoblog Garage , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Ford 2010 Ford Mustang GT - Click above for high-res image gallery We spent a few precious hours in the 2010 Ford Mustang GT toward the end of last year. More recently, we were able to get a Kona Blue model in the Autoblog Garage, and this time, we spent a full week exploring the car's metropolis manners in between long rounds in the saddle, throwing the car over hill and dale... and around the track. This Mustang promises much, and on our First Drive , it delivered as promised. Follow the jump to see if it could do the same for an entire week. Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Sports/GTs , Ford , ROUSH 2010 Roush 427R Mustang - Click above for image gallery If you're the type of person who loves every new Ford Mustang variation that hits the market, then this is what you've finally been waiting for. If you're the type who can't stand it, well, deal with it. Today, Roush is the first to dip its toe into into what will doubtlessly be a very crowded pool of tuner Mustangs with the introduction of its 2010 427R Mustang at its Livonia, MI assembly plant. Like the standard 2010 Mustang, don't expect drastic changes underneath - the meat-and-potatoes of Roush Mustangs over the past few years are all there but now with a fresh new face. Under the hood, the Blue Oval's V8 has been supercharged to produce 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and it now features a more efficient intake system and improved cooling. The appearance package is relatively subtle (if you can call side stripes "subtle") and...
