Filed under: China , Crossovers/CUVs , Lincoln How brazen can you get? At least most of the Chinese auto-cloners automakers create their own renderings of the cars they are copying. HongQi, a "premium" brand produced by First Auto Works in China simply grabbed a couple of press shots of the Lincoln MKT concept from the Ford Media site and starting 'chopping. Regardless of what you might think of Lincoln's new styling direction (generally, we like it), the Chinese version is not easy on the eyes. You would think with three months to work on it since the Lincoln pics appeared they could find someone to do a more professional-looking job. The question is, will FAW get their version on the road before the production version of the MKT lands at Lincoln dealers in 2009? Filed under: China , Crossovers/CUVs , Mercedes Benz , Misc. Auto Shows Click above to view high-res gallery of the 2010 GLK 350 Mercedes-Benz debuted the GLK last January at the Detroit Auto Show in the form of two lightly veiled concepts: the Townside and the Freeside . Until now, the only place we've glimpsed the production version is on the set of Sex and the City . This weekend Mercedes will be unveiling the production GLK sans Kim Cattrall at the Beijing Motor Show , a.k.a. the Auto China in Bejing. We've also learned that the GLK will have only one engine available when it goes sale in the U.S. next January as a 2010 model. The sole motor will be a 268-horsepower 3.5L V6, which can be paired with a two-wheel-drive or 4MATIC all-wheel-drive platform, the latter being able to hit 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds while also returning 23 mpg on the highway. The design of the GLK, meanwhile, apes other CUVs that want to look tough despite their decidedly non-SUV underpinnings, hence...

Filed under: Minivans/MPVs , China , Crossovers/CUVs , Misc. Auto Shows When it comes to new Chinese debuts set for Beijing next month, the steady drip of photos accompanied by little to know info continues apace. The latest is another MPV study from Geely, which will have eighteen vehicles scattered about the show floor. Geely might call this an MPV, but everything we see screams "crossover!" Note the high ground clearance and tall-wagon bodystyle -- elements which pretty much define the segment. It's hard to judge the styling based on a single profile shot, but here again we have a vehicle that looks like it's not going to have anyone pointing and snickering. The shape of the side glass adds a bit of flair, and the wraparound LED taillamps seem to finish the rear off pretty nicely. We'll have to sit tight and wait for more photos and tech specs, but between this, the HL , and the GT , Geely appears to be putting together a show lineup that's going to be worth...

The warm greeting between these officials and ChangFeng Chairman Li Jianxin is proof positive that Michigan is looking to China for a way out of its economic slump. Big ups to Chairman Li who abandoned the comfort and familiarity of his native tongue to tackle a three-page speech in English, though it was unfortunately for naught as we couldn't understand a single word he said. Thankfully we happened upon a transcript of the speech so we could tell you about these two vehicles shown by ChengFeng at the show...
