Filed under: Concept Cars , Spy Photos , Supercars , Ferrari , Special/Limited Editions The automotive web lit up this weekend with speculation over a mysterious Ferrari photographed running development laps around the Fiorano test track.. While some suggest this could be the successor to either the F430 or the Enzo, observers were confused by the complete lack of any apparent effort to disguise the car's bodywork. The latest reports now indicate that the vehicle in question is a one-off rebodied F430 custom made by Italian design house Fioravanti for what must be an incredibly wealthy customer. The emergence of the purported Fioravanti F430 follows similar creations from Pininfarina , Giugiaro and Zagato (and reportedly soon from Touring ) as well as the announcement of Ferrari's program to offer discerning (and financially unlimited) clients with custom models. The criteria call for leaving certain elements - including the crash structures and the running gear - intact, but apart...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Etc. , Supercars , Ferrari As we reported not too long ago, Ferrari is not stupid , and if you've got the obscene cashflow, you can get your own design rendered in Rosso Corsa with a gen-yoo-wine Prancing Horse on the fender. Trouble is, not everyone has a shelf full of sketchbooks with multitudinous supercar designs lying in wait. Even if you do, they're probably not very good. Mastering foreshortening and perspective is not a weekend project, and designing a body that's actually capable of production is also not something the common man, even the uncommonly rich common man, is familiar with. Yanko Design has done some of the heavy lifting for those talentless hacks wanting to join the Jim Glickenhaus society. The Glick went to Pininfarina, but Yanko came up with several designs that offer alternate takes on the Ferrari theme. Some actually look good, though others would be better off as Hot Wheels cars. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to get one...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , Sports/GTs , Ferrari There are revivals, and then there are revivals. Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera got it right by making a big splash at Villa d'Este when it showed up with not one, but two custom coachbuilt Maseratis: the sumptuous A8GCS Berlinetta and the innovative Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback. Talk about hitting the ground running. Evidently not content to rest on its show-stopping, beautifully-shaped aerodynamic laurels, the Carrozzeria is now tipped to be readying a coachbuilt Ferrari. The rumors are fueled by a trip down memory lane (at full throttle, no less): Some of the first Ferraris featured Touring coachwork, including the 166 MM in which Ferrari claimed its very first victory back in 1959, along with the vehicles in which Ferrari won both Le Mans and the Francorchamps 24 the very same year. Quick math, carry the one...what's the square root of 1959? Oh wait! Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of that victorious...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Ferrari Click above for high-res gallery of the USD GT-S Passionata You may not remember the name Ugur Sahin , but if you've been reading Autoblog for a while you probably remember his designs. The Turkish designer has dreamed up the Corvette Z03 Concept , and before that brought the world his interpretation of what a modern Ferrari Dino might look like (he was a little off ). It turns out that Sahin has been continually evolving his Dino design, however, and today we get our first look at the result of his extra doodling: the USD GT-S Passionata concept. Based on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the Passionata retains the grand sports tourer personality of its host chassis, but adds a body that's much more organic with swoops, bulges and soft curves everywhere the eye falls. The mega hood scoop makes the car look a little insect-like, and we also see some cues inspired by the Corvette, Lotus and even McLaren F1 in the front end, but...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Etc. , Supercars , Ferrari Click the image above for more hi-res pics of the Ferrari Concept 2008 We realize that not everyone will agree with us on this one -- passions seem to run highest over the cars that the fewest number of people will drive -- but if the Ferrari California looked like this concept, we'd put down a deposit right now. Once someone else gave us the money to do so. Sure, from the A-pillar forward is pure Maserati, and there's no way a front intake like that could or should make it onto a Ferrari. Still, it's a good looking front end, and we don't mind design elements going up as well as down. Besides, a couple of keystrokes can get a proper Ferrari nose in place. But from the A-pillar to the rear... those are the kind of aggressive, subtle lines we like in our Ferraris. Which is not to say we don't like the California -- we just like this a little better... A coupe, please. That color. Gallery: Ferrari...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Euro , Ferrari , Toys , Motorcycles Click on the image above for more high-res shots of the Ferrari Motorcycle model There are plenty of awe-inspiring Italian motorcycles for us to dream about, but still, a Ferrari motorcycle would surely be a welcome addition to the sportbike ranks. Just what might a superbike designed by Ferrari look like? We can imagine a carbon fiber frame for starters, and surely there would need to be plenty of red bodywork. As a matter of fact, we think that a Ferrari motorcycle would look quite a bit like the scale model you see above. Scale Auto Magazine member andybmw7272 started of his project with a Yamaha kit from Tamiya, but everything has been modified to suit the project. We're sure you'll agree that it was extremely well done, and it gives us something to think about should Maranello ever decide to venture into the two-wheeled market. Filed under: Concept Cars , Ferrari Click above for high-res gallery of the Husmen 699 GTO Here at Autoblog, we love renderings of both future production vehicles and cars that will never see a production line in our lifetime. The Husmen 699 GTO likely falls in the latter camp, but that doesn't make it less impressive. Designed by Emre Husmen, a Transportation Design student at IED - Turin, the 699 GTO takes inspiration from a file folder of past Ferraris including the 250 GTO, 250 TR, P4, the current 599 GTB Fiorano and even Alfa Romeo's 8C Competizione. Quite a collection of muses, but the resulting work speaks for itself. Husmen says that while the 699 GTO sports dimensions similar to that of a present day 599, it would be 200 kg lighter thanks to its carbon fiber body and feature a twin-supercharged V8 that runs on biofuel. Oh, and for those worried about clipping curbs or trying to park this thing at the mall, it's fitted with a hydraulic suspension and rear backup camera...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Supercars , Ferrari click above for more high-res images of the Ferrar F250 Concept Ferrari is very reluctant to admit it's working on an "entry-level" model that is rumored to be a successor to the Dino, so those of us who can't wait have to take matters into our own hands. Meet the Ferrari F250 Concept designed by Idries Omar, who says the low slung, mid-engine supercar you see before you was originally intended to be his take on a new Dino. But let's face it, the name "Dino" makes most people think of The Flintstones , so Omar instead crowned his creation the F250. Sure, it doesn't share much in common with the venerable 250 GTO after which it's named, but if we're already imagining Ferraris that don't exist, we should be able to name them whatever we want. Less artistic license was taken for the 250 GTO Concept's engine, which Omar imagines to be a 2.5L V6 that runs on biofuel. This part of his thought experiment...

Save for a few vegetarians among us, that's how we like our steaks, and that's how we like our Ferraris. But some are so rare, even the bloodlust-driven connoisseurs among us don't know what to do with it. Take this one-off Ferrari Conciso. It's absolute car paccio. But nobody seems to be biting. The Conciso was built by German studio Michalak Design based on the mechanicals of a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS (s/n 80962). As the name implies, the idea was to trim the chassis down to its bare essentials. The car has no doors and little in the way of a windshield to speak of. The driver and passenger hop over the sides like an F1 driver, hunker down into the racing buckets, buckle the competition harnesses and strap on the helmets, stored in special compartments inside the cabin. The concept was shown at the 1993 Frankfurt show and in Geneva the...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Convertibles , Sports/GTs , Supercars , Ferrari click to enlarge Dutch designer Michiel van den Brink doesn't seem to be deterred by adversity. First he set out to pen a modern interpretation of one of the most iconic homologated racing GTs of all time, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. Then he actually decided to build his design, basing it on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, arguably the most dynamically sublime supercar ever to grace tarmac. When the Fiorano's 600-hp Enzo sourced V12 wasn't good enough, he teamed up with tuning house Edo Competition to turn it up to 11 by boring it out to 6.3 liters. The result? 750 horsepower. When Maranello declined to grant him its blessing , he started taking orders anyway from customers seemingly undeterred by the $1.3 million asking price... over the cost of the donor car. Now that conjecture has begun circulating cyberspace that Ferrari is considering building a small run of convertibles based on the Fiorano , van den...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Ferrari Rumors of Ferrari producing an SUV have been around for years, probably ever since the Porsche Cayenne arrived and proved that a marque with the highest of sporting credentials could get away with offerings such a clod to its clientele. Nevertheless, Ferrari fans scoff at the idea, with some here at Autoblog exclaiming they will draw their last breath before Maranello builds an SUV. Yet the rumors persist, recently culminating in a post by our friends over at World Car Fans that contained an incredible amount of specific conjecture about a Ferrari F599 FS 599 Fuoristrada concept being readied for the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The rendering that accompanied their post was a bit 8th grade-esque in execution , so we thought we'd share this one cribbed from what appears to be a Romanian site. For all we know the linked article could be telling us that the Ferrari SUV has been approved for production and Michael Schumacher will personally autograph the passenger...
