Filed under: Car Buying , Auction Action , Marketing/Advertising , Chrysler , GM , Lexus Way back in February, General Motors announced it would be listing all of it Certified Pre-Owned vehicles on eBay Motors, and it took until now to actually make that happen. To go along with GM, Chrysler and Lexus have also joined up, with eBay Motors making a special section of its website specifically for CPO vehicles. The new site, which can be found here , went live yesterday and is sponsored exclusively by Lexus. It's also provided at no cost to any dealer looking for another outlet to advertise its inventory. A quick check of the new hub shows that both eBay's classic auction-style listings and regular classified ads are listed together. The site's search functionality allows users to find vehicles located near their zip code, meaning it should prove awfully easy to find that brand-spanking-used Chrysler Sebring you've been foaming at the mouth for. The first Challenger was won at auction by none other than Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson, and the world-famous auctioneer can pick up his prized $400,000 pony car at Ed Moses Dodge in Scottsdale, AZ whenever he's ready. Dodge Challenger SRT8 numero uno is completely loaded, black with a gray stripe down the center, and the plastic condoms have yet to be removed from the steering wheel and driver's seat. Jackson wasn't the only high-profile celebrity to snap up an early Challenger SRT8, either. As you read on Autoblog earlier, Jay Leno received Challenger #0002 this week, and the comedian/car nut has already parked his new toy at The Tonight Show headquarters in Burbank, CA. On today's episode of "Fun With Centers of Gravity" we have the delightful union of the neuter-car PT Cruiser with the greasy unmentionables of a 29 year old Chevy Blazer. It may very well be legal in some states, but it'll still be unholy everywhere it goes. Build quality appears on par with a dollar store habachi - are those pop rivets on the fender liners? The battery sitting on a folded back seat is the crowning feature of the interior and there's also no heat or air conditioning, making this a fun year-round ride. The zip-ties and extra-fun spark plug wire routing in the engine bay dress up the 350, and the seller believes so much in this powertrain that there's a warranty to sweeten the pot. Of course #43 is no run-of-the-mill Challenger, as it's the only one (or, the only '08 model, at least) finished in B5 Blue paint, in a nod to "The King," Richard Petty, whose Mopar racers all wore a similar color. Unique paint isn't the only differentiator either, as it also comes with a commemorative plaque, a decal package (the winner can choose whether or not it's applied ot the car), and a meet-and-greet with Kyle Petty in addition to a VIP Package to the Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at Darlington. Chrysler is working the numerology angle, linking the 43rd Challenger to living legend Richard Petty and the #43 he made famous while driving Mopar stock cars to victory over his long racing career. Pre-qualified bidders will have the opportunity to take home the 43rd Challenger built, which will be the only one finished in B5 Blue in a nod to the Petty Blue (or Corporate Blue) finish that adorned The King's racers. Carbon fiber-look hood stripes, a chrome fuel filler lid and a numbered dash plaque finish this particular one-off appearance package, and the auction winner also gets a VIP Package to this May's Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at Darlington. Just a month after the 'Cuda made its first appearance at the SEMA show, Barrett-Jackson has announced that the car will be offered to the highest bidder come January. The winner will essentially be getting a modified Dodge Charger chassis with custom 2-door carbon fiber bodywork covered in Lamborghini Pearl Orange paint, a functional shaker hood feeding air to a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 and 22-inch Zenetti wheels wrapped with Pirelli P Zero tires. Before potential buyers plunk down hundreds of thousands of dollars for the car, they might want to see if Metalcrafters would build a second, and if so, how much it would cost.
