  • Chicago 2008: HUMMER H3T makes unceremonious debut

Filed under: Chicago Auto Show , SUVs , Trucks/Pickups , GM , HUMMER click above for more high-res shots of the 2009 HUMMER H3T You've got to feel a little bad for the HUMMER H3T. While the rest of the crowd at GM's press conference had their focus set on the unveiling of the 2009 Chevy Traverse , the 2009 HUMMER H3T sat in the corner, all but ignored by camera-toting journos. We, however, know a good thing when we see it (though many of you might disagree). And considering how the H3T is sporting an elongated wheelbase and a five-foot long bed, it remains one of a few significant unveilings here in Chi-town. Just as a refresher, the H3T gets power from either the anemic 3.7-liter five-cylinder mill we've come to know and loathe or a 5.3-liter V8 when equipped in the top-level Alpha trim. Towing capacity is 5,900 pounds, which should be plenty for a family of four with dirt bikes in tow. Check out our high-res gallery of live and press shots below and head on over to our original...
  • Chicago 2008: Chevy unveils 2009 Traverse [w/VIDEO]

Filed under: Chicago Auto Show , SUVs , Crossovers/CUVs , Chevrolet , GM click above for more high-res live shots of the 2009 Chevy Traverse As was previously mentioned , Autoblog is here at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show, doing our best to bring you up to speed on all the latest live reveals. We made it down to the GM booth early in the morning for the official debut of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, and it was pretty much exactly as we expected: another Lambda crossover, platform mate to the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave. Looks-wise, the Chevy Traverse is not the least attractive Lambda (looking at you, Outlook), but the Acadia and Enclave have it beat. Though Chevy claims that it used styling cues from the Malibu midsize sedan in the Traverse's design, we don't think they work as well on a CUV of this size. Especially note the grille , which apes the current Chevy design language to a tee. As Alex mentioned , the headlights look a little mean in pictures, but less so...
  • 2009 Chevy Camaro a no-show at auto shows

Filed under: Chicago Auto Show , Detroit Auto Show , Spy Photos , Convertibles , Coupes , Chevrolet , GM We've seen the Camaro coupe and convertible concepts over the past two years at venues like the Detroit and Chicago auto shows. A stunning yellow Camaro also had the starring role on the biggest Hollywood blockbuster of 2007. We're even getting " spy shots " of the production Camaro taken by General Motors engineers that are posted on the GM Fast Lane blog. What we won't see any time soon is a production Camaro being unveiled during 2008. Kicking Tires quotes Chevy execs as saying that the company wants to avoid overexposure when production is still a year away. The General also wants to get the concept car to less prominent show sites like Houston and Cleveland, and there aren't many hand-made models to spread out across the country. Since this is the third year in a row that at least one Camaro concept has been shown at the Detroit show, the crowd gathering...
