They cannot bring themselves to fork over the funds for an item that depreciates in value so quickly after pulling away from the dealer's lot. The world of certified used cars arose for these frugal minded individuals. Certified used cars offer sufficient warranty coverage, enough miles on the odometers to assure that they are not lemons and little to none of the instant investment nose dive. Now Lamborghini is joining the ranks of manufacturers offering pre-owned vehicles through its dealership network so wealthy super tight wads can feel a little bit better about splurging for a Lambo. This will also make it easier for those who have to be seen in the latest and greatest to trade up from old to new models. The program begins in July and extends to all Gallardo and Murcielago models...

Filed under: Car Buying , Supercars , Lamborghini Click to view the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 in hi-res Nobody buys a bare-bones Lamborghini unless they're planning on racing it or want to pretend they are. With the Superleggera discontinued and the new lightweight Gallardo yet to rear its head, most buyers of the new LP560-4 will be spec'ing out their Lambos with all the kit. The car retails for $280,000. Big sticker price, then, but tick the boxes for all those must-have options and a quarter-million will look like a bargain as the price inches closer to a third. For example, most Lambo buyers opt for the sequential paddle-shift transmission, which Sant'Agata calls e-gear, and which adds another $12k to the price. Carbon ceramic brakes? You're going to want that stopping power to keep your six-figure supercar out of the trees, won't you? Another $19k. Throw in sat-nav and up-rated rolling stock and the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 is pushing $322,000. And that's...

Filed under: Car Buying , Supercars , Lamborghini Click above for a high-res gallery of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. Lamborghini is in the process of developing its own certified pre-owned program that should launch by the end of the year. According to Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, the program will be rolled out worldwide, beginning with dealers in the U.S. and Europe. Details about how a used Lambo will be inspected or certified haven't been released yet, but sales will only be allowed through authorized Lamborghini dealers. Ferrari has been dealing in certified pre-owned vehicles since 2003, and just announced a program that would include a 190-point certification process of seven models going all the way back to 1998. Filed under: Car Buying , Supercars , Lamborghini Click above for photo gallery Sometimes people say the best gifts come in small packages. We beg to differ, because if someone were to deliver us the big 'ol box you see above, we'd probably think it was the best gift ever. In that box is Lamborghini Reventon number one of twenty. Apparently, it's the only example which will be sold privately via a traditional dealership -- in this case, Lamborghini of Las Vegas. The other nineteen were all spoken for before ever leaving the factory. We've attached a sampling of photos here, but to see the complete, step-by-step gallery of the car's unboxing in Sin City, you'll need to drop by Fresh Tarmac . If you're an Autoblog reader vacationing in Vegas, you know what to do if you jackpot one of those hundred-dollar slots. Filed under: Car Buying , Geneva Motor Show , Supercars , Lamborghini During most weeks, Ford will build more than 3,000 F-Series pickups by Wednesday. It has taken more than five years to build 3,000 Lamborghini Murciélagos , but in the realm of $300,000 supercars the Italian automaker can consider this level of sales success a very substantial accomplishment. The Lamborghini Murciélago replaced the Diablo in 2002, sporting a 6.2L V12 capable of hitting 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. To keep up with the ever-evolving supercar set, Lamborghini unveiled the LP640 model at Geneva in 2006. This upgraded bull sports a larger 6.5L V12, which helps shave .4 off its 0-60 time. Power and style coupled with a renewed appetite for $300,000 sports cars has helped the Murciélago surpass sales numbers of the Diablo, its predecessor, in half the production time. Number 3,000 is headed for the U.S. and it's been equipped with several high-end touches to celebrate its milestone status...
