  • Nissan boosts price on Murano, Sentra and bumps destination charges

Filed under: Car Buying , Economy , Sedans/Saloons , Crossovers/CUVs , Infiniti , Nissan While most of the attention Nissan has been getting recently revolves around the GT-R sportscar , its bread-and-butter models, like the Sentra S and the new Murano, have gotten slight bumps in price. The compact sedan sees an increase from $16,930, which included a $660 destination charge to $17,030, including a higher $695 destination charge. The Murano was just redesigned and launched with a mildly lowered price for this model year. Not so much anymore, as it now jumps to $29,250, including a slightly raised $780 destination charge. In addition to these incremental sticker price adjustments, Nissan has announced a mild increase to the destination charges for all of its 2008 and 2009 model-year vehicles carrying Nissan or Infiniti badges. Though Nissan has yet to comment on the reason for the price hikes, we'd imagine that the weak U.S. dollar and high fuel prices undoubtedly play a part in both...
  • Infiniti prices FX35/FX50 from $40,950/$56,700

Filed under: Car Buying , Crossovers/CUVs , Infiniti click above for high-res gallery of the 2009 FX35 and FX50 Infiniti has announced pricing for its 2009 FX35 and FX50 , and if you're jonesing for some of that "bionic cheetah" styling, the base price for the FX35 RWD with the venerable 3.5L VQ V6 producing 303 horsepower is $40,950. If you'd prefer a CUV that can rotate all four wheels at once, the FX35 AWD jumps up to $42,350. Finally, the bid dog of the bunch, the FX50 AWD with its 390-hp 5.0L V8, starts at a heady $56,700. All FX models get a seven-speed automatic with magnesium paddle shifters for do-it-yourself shifting, as well. These prices don't include destination and handling charges, which haven't been set yet but were $815 for the current-gen FX. And the pricing doesn't stop there, as each model has a few option packages that may boost the price even further. The FX35 is available with a Premium Package ($2,350), Navigation Package ($2,850) that...
  • Rumormill? Infiniti G37 sedan coming in 2009

Filed under: Car Buying , Sedans/Saloons , Infiniti A forum member at Motive has (supposedly) obtained Infiniti's 2009 ordering guide, and with it comes (supposed) word that the 2009 G-series sedan will be upgraded with the 3.7-liter VQ37VHR V6. Exact output has yet to be confirmed, but the document rates the 3.7-liter V6 at 320+ hp, with power sent to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The model and package list (posted after the jump) goes on to say that the 2009 Infiniti G37 will include four-piston front brakes equipped with 14-inch rotors, five-spoke 18-inch wheels, re-designed side view mirrors and the Scratch Shield paint found on the new FX line of CUVs. Two new exterior colors will also be made available: Moonlight White and Sahara Sandstone. We've got a call in to Nissan's PR people to confirm the information. Watch this space for an update. UPDATE: Infiniti got back to us, saying that more information about the 2009 Infiniti Gs will be available in August, but...
  • Infiniti announces the FX35... still not the FX37

Filed under: Car Buying , SUVs , Japan , Infiniti Click above for high-res gallery of the 2009 Infiniti FX It is official. The all-new 2009 FX50 will not share the showroom floor with a rumored "FX37." Instead, Infiniti has chosen to keep the less-powerful sibling designated as the "FX35." That means the engine is the award-winning VQ35HR right out of the Infiniti G35 sedan -- not the sweet 3.7-liter 330-hp gem from the G37 Coupe . Under the hood of the FX, the slightly smaller six-cylinder is rated at 303 hp (down just a few horses from the sedan's rating of 306 hp). The 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 will be mated to a standard 7-speed automatic with Nissan's Adaptive Shift Control (those trick magnesium paddle shifters are optional). Like the outgoing FX35 it replaces, the 2009 model will be available in two versions: FX35 and FX35 AWD. The all-wheel-drive model is equipped with Nissan's ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic...
  • Can't afford a Nissan GT-R? Lease it!

Filed under: Car Buying , Sports/GTs , Supercars , Nissan Click above for a high-res gallery of the U.S.-spec Nissan GT-R. Nissan's upcoming supercar, the 2009 GT-R , has a base price of $69,850. It's a relative bargain when you consider the 911 Turbo , offering the same level of all-wheel-drive performance, will cost you at least $126,200. However, it's still far bit steeper than the average sales price of a new car in the United States (hovering just under $30,000 this year), not to mention the insane dealer markups that will likely put the sale price into the stratosphere. To help ease the financial burden, and put one of these turbocharged 473-hp monsters in your garage, Nissan North America has indicated that they will be offering a lease option on the all-new GT-R. Don't print out your credit score and jog down to your local Nissan dealer just yet. There are about 1,400 Nissan dealerships in the States, and only 691 of them have begun to take pre-orders . Total sales...
  • Infiniti to subsidize European dealerships

Filed under: Car Buying , Euro , Infiniti , Earnings/Financials It's easy to forget that the luxury brands the Japanese automakers started in the late '80s were established specifically for the U.S. market. However, much like its competitors, Nissan's Infiniti brand has expanded outside of North America, establishing itself in several Asian markets, and is now in the midst of an all-out assault on Europe. Infiniti Europe hopes to have 78 dealers across the continent by the end of 2010 selling an initial line-up consisting of the new EX (shown), FX and G models. It's also reportedly considering the development of a compact crossover around the size of the Audi A3 specifically targeted for Europe. Nissan realizes, however, that it will take a long time for Infiniti to establish itself in the market, and as a result is planning to financially subsidize its European dealerships in the short term until they can turn a profit. • Infiniti prices 2008 EX35 just over $30k

Filed under: Car Buying , Crossovers/CUVs , Infiniti Entry luxury crossovers are only a few weeks from getting a new competitor, and the Infiniti EX35 will be priced to sell. The base EX begins at a reasonable $31,300, and includes a 297 HP 3.5L V6, five speed automatic, and six air bags. Infiniti also offers a RWD EX Journey for $34,850, and leather-trimmed seats, moon roof, and front and rear sensing systems come standard. AWD is a $1,400 option on both models. Infiniti also offers several option packages that will bring the little CUV over the $40,000 mark, but that's the standard top end for much of the segment. The EX35 has good looks, a willing chassis based off the G35 sedan, and an outstanding VQ engine. At these prices, Infinity should meet sales quotas and steal buyers from other luxury nameplates at the same time. The EX35 will be available beginning December 21. Check out the press release after the jump. [Source: Infiniti] Continue reading Infiniti prices 2008 EX35 just...
  • Infiniti prices 2008 M and new AWD M45x

Filed under: Car Buying , Sedans/Saloons , Infiniti click above image for high-res gallery of the 2008 Infiniti M Infiniti announced pricing for its entire M lineup this week, a lineup that grows by one model with the addition of the M45x. The M45x features Infiniti's 325-hp 4.5L V8 paired to the company's ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system. Previously buyers could only get AWD if they bought the entry-level M35x powered by the 275-hp 3.5L VQ V6. The M45x will start at $51,850, making it the most expensive M model, while the regular rear-wheel-drive M45 begins at $49,350 and the M35/M35x start at $43,050 and $44,800, respectively. Also of note is that the M Sport models are gone, replaced by a Sport Package that can apparently be had on either the M35 or M45. The Sport Package includes unique exterior and interior tweaks, Rear Active Steer and 19-inch wheels. Also, the M35's Journey Package including climate-controlled seats and Xenon headlamps is now standard equipment. There are a host...
