NADAguides.com Partners With AutoTrader.com to Support Nationwide Launch of 'Cash for Clunkers' Program

With the Cash for Clunkers program now called CARS (Cash Allowance Rebate System) nearing its launch, new car shoppers will soon have the opportunity to receive a $3,500 or $4,500 voucher towards the purchase or lease of a new vehicle if their trade-in vehicle meets specific program criteria (see list below). This government-funded program is meant to incentivize car shoppers to purchase or lease a new and more fuel efficient vehicle when they trade in a less fuel efficient vehicle.

To make this program easier and better understood by the consumer, AutoTrader.com and NADAguides.com have collaborated on a website tool located on both sites that allows car shoppers to enter their used "clunker" to not only see if it qualifies, but to see a large list of qualifying new vehicles and voucher amounts that may be applied towards the purchase. The trade-in vouchers range from $3,500 to $4,500 depending on the type of vehicle purchased and the difference in fuel economy (mpg) between the purchased vehicle and the trade-in vehicle.

"The Car Allowance Rebate System will work to not only get high polluting vehicles off the road, but will also help stimulate new vehicle sales. This is a win-win for consumers and auto dealers by helping car shoppers with new vehicle purchases," said Michael Caudill, automotive expert, NADAguides.com. "This is a great break for consumers who are either in the market for or considering the purchase of a new vehicle."

What are the trade-in qualifications needed to receive the voucher?

Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements)
Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in
Dealers must register to be a part of the program. Consumers should ask this of dealers
You don't need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase
Program runs through Nov. 1, 2009 or when the government funds are exhausted, whichever comes first
The vehicle that you are trading in is required to be destroyed. Therefore, the value you negotiate with the dealer for your trade in is not likely to exceed its scrap value. The law requires the dealer to disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in vehicle.

Twist Of Fate Or Justice Served? Ford Outsells Toyota For Third Month In A Row

For the third month in a row, Ford Motor Co. outsold the Japanese juggernaut in the United States, still a crucial and rich market amid this nagging recession. In June alone, the Dearborn automaker reported an 11 percent year-over-year decline in monthly sales to 148,153 cars and trucks, compared to Toyota's 34.6 percent slide to 131,654 vehicles.

And this: General Motors Corp. -- beleaguered and bankrupt, its dealer body jittery and brand image suspect, its only willing lender the Treasury -- so far this year has outsold Toyota 947,518 to 770,449, according to Autodata Corp. Partly evidence of Toyota's strong presence in, and dependence on, the imploding California market?

Yes, but what else?
For the first three months of the year, Toyota lost more money than Ford and even GM. Since then, the Japanese automaker has replaced its president with a scion of the founding family, 53-year-old Akio Toyoda, who promises a "back to basics" push for the industry's richest automaker even as more troubles emerged in the first weeks of his new assignment.

Chrysler Financial to shed 350 jobs, restructure operations

Due to slipping sales and Chrysler’s lending shift to GMAC, Chrysler Financial says it will shed about 350 jobs. Chrysler Financials entire business model will also be restructured, resulting in the closure of the company’s customer service center near Kansas City.
Chrysler Financial will eliminate positions at all eight of its business centers, as well as at the company’s Farmington Hills headquarters. In all, Chrysler Financial will shed about 9 percent of its total workforce.

“While these were difficult decisions to make, they are necessary in light of our declining portfolio,” said Tom Gilman, Chairman and CEO — Chrysler Financial. “We have made every effort to limit the number of job losses and to ensure the affected employees are treated fairly.”

Chrysler Financial – held by Cerberus Capital Management – was dumped as the lending arm of Chrysler during the company’s time in bankruptcy. Despite being displaced by GMAC, Chrysler Financial still holds a $45 billion portfolio with operations in dealership insurance and retail financing.

Stunt driver does the World’s largest loop-the-loop

Stuntman Steve Truglia has entered the realm of awesomeness by completing the World’s largest loop-the-loop. The stunt that required great precision was completed with the help of a Cambridge physicist, and the feat done at Suffolk airbase. The maneuver was done for the TV show Fifth Gear, and will be aired this Saturday. He completed the 40-feet loop in a Toyota, and entered the record books.

I see that you have written about the new crash test conducted with the smart fortwo by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), in which the smart for two was paired against a Mercedes C-Class. Two other cars were paired with larger vehicles from the same automaker (Honda Fit vs. Accord, and Toyota Yaris vs. Camry). What you may not know is that this test represents a type of crash that is rare and extreme — less than 1% of all accidents can compare to this type of test — and it is neither recognized nor required by federal safety regulators. By pitting “big vs. small,” this test seems to have one goal: to imply that bigger, heavier cars are always safer.

The smart fortwo meets or exceeds all federal government safety standards, including earning a five-star side crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the highest ratings for front and side crashes in the IIHS’s own barrier test. As I mentioned earlier, this test unfairly singles out only mini and micro cars, rather than testing vehicles in all segments, big and small.

GM prepares for bankruptcy filing by June 1st

Directed by the Treasure Department, TM is laying the groundwork for filing bankruptcy. By June 1, GM must reach an agreement with bondholders to "exchange roughly $28 billion in debt into equity in G.M. and with the United Automobile Workers union," writes the New York Times. Should they miss the deadline, GM may need to resort to a Chapter 11 filing.

“If we need to resort to bankruptcy, we have to do it quickly,” Mr. Henderson said in an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Extended Range Hummer H3 to be unveiled at SAE World Congress [video included]

For those of you who can’t satisfy your SUV fix inside a Prius, this may just work for you. FEV is releasing a redesigned SUV (The Hummer H3) with an electric motor.

The Hummer H3 ReEV is the first range-extended electric vehicle based on a full-sized SUV. The Raser scalable plug-in series hybrid design provides 40+ mile all-electric range and 100+ mpg fuel economy. FEV performed the full vehicle integration including electrical and mechanical design. Additionally, FEV developed all software for the hybrid control unit and in-vehicle graphical display.

Propulsion comes from Raser's 200 kW traction motor mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Raser's 100 kW generator, driven by a 2.0L SIDI turbocharged engine, provides electrical power. Although a full-sized SUV, the concept has been achieved with only minimal sacrifice of acceleration performance, cargo space, or towing capacity.

"Our goal in exhibiting this particular vehicle is to demonstrate that electric vehicle technology is a viable solution for a variety of vehicle platforms," said Rogers. "Needs of consumers will continue to vary, and the Hummer range-extended electric vehicle shows that fuel economy does not necessarily mean sacrificing power and utility."

The Maryland General Assembly yesterday gave final approval to a measure that will expand the use of speed cameras to every part of the state, allowing cameras on high-volume freeways for the first time. Lawmakers in Annapolis, at the urging of Governor Martin O'Malley (D), saw the measure as an essential means of reining in the state's run-away budget deficit. Traffic camera vendors also helped promote the effort with lavish gifts, parties and campaign donations.

The new legislation specifically authorizes the use of speed cameras anywhere in the state up to one-half a mile away from a school zone. School zone cameras can operate as late as 8pm and ticket motorists regardless of whether school is in session. It also creates a statewide freeway camera program designed to be used in so-called "work zones" where the speed limit is lowered, regardless of whether workers are actually present. On a freeway that ordinarily has a 55 MPH speed limit, for example, citations would be issued to anyone driving 57 MPH in the lowered speed zone. For-profit private companies are authorized to take charge of all aspects of the program.

Lawmakers turned aside a number of amendments intended to clarify the true purpose of the program. One rejected provision would have returned any profit from the program to the public in the form of a tax credit. Another would have required weekly calibrations be performed to ensure the accuracy of the tickets. Lawmakers also rejected an amendment that would have ensured that state legislators were not exempt from receiving photo radar tickets. They also turned down an amendment that would have printed on each ticket the names of lawmakers responsible for voting the camera bill into law.

The only limitation adopted was a provision limiting cities from using speed cameras to increase their general fund budgets by more than ten percent. This amendment was aimed at Silver Spring, which doubled its annual revenue with photo ticketing.

New camera system catches drivers on cell phones/distracted while driving VID

And you thought red light cameras here was bad, the Manchester Police in the UK are testing a new system that records every drivers as they pass by and if they are “Distracted” they will be sent a $87 ticket along with 3 points taken away from their license. distractions including eating at the wheel, playing with the radio or applying make-up is filmed on camera.

Mike Downes of the Greater Manchester Casualty Reduction Partnership said the scheme was successfully "driving the number of accidents down" Mr Downes said the cars would only trace people who are committing an offence. "The camera is only trained on the vehicle to secure the evidence," he said. "I would say the actions we are taking are reasonable, proportionate and fair in light of the fact that we are trying to save lives."

How long will it take for this to come to the US.

Tesla Roadster goes 241 miles on single charge in European rally

Electric vehicles are often criticized for their limited range, but Tesla’s Roadster recently proved that even today’s EV’s have enough juice to cover a significant chunk of miles. In the Rallye Monte Carlo d’Energies Alternatives, Tesla’s Roadster covered 241 miles on a single charge.

The annual event –put on by the Automobile Club of Monaco – runs from Valance, France to Monaco, pitting alternative fuel vehicles against one another. The rally covers 241 miles of highways, streets and back roads.

The Tesla Roadster was the only electric vehicle to finish the event on a single charge – a Ruf EV and a few Mitsubishi iMiev’s also competed in the event – and its gauge cluster even indicated its batteries still had enough charge for another 38 miles. That would put the Roadster’s overall range at 279 miles – about 59 miles more than Tesla claims on the Roadster’s spec sheet.

Speeds for the rally ranged from about 60 mph to 20 mph, with the average checking in at a less-than-thrilling 28 mph. However, the fact that the Roadster covered all 241 miles – with some to spare – is still quite the feat.

Mitsubishi to help Oregon build electric car network

Mitsubishi Motors North America today became the second auto-maker to commit to helping Oregon build a statewide electric vehicle charging network.

Shinichi Kurihara, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, announced the partnership this morning during an address at the New York International Auto Show, where it showcased the plug-in electric i-MiEV, which stands for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle.

The partnership means Mitsubishi will lend its input to the state’s efforts to employ vehicle charging stations.

The state received formed an earlier partnership with fellow Japanese auto-makers Nissan, which on Monday brought to Portland a prototype of its electric-drive vehicle technology, which it hopes to market in 2010.

Oregon has drawn similar interest from other automakers.

Last summer, Toyota Motor Corp. said it would put four electric RAV4 vehicles in Portland for use by Portland State University as shuttle vehicles.

BYD Co., a Chinese battery and auto manufacturer, has considered Oregon as a test market for its electric vehicles.

On Tuesday, Norwegian auto-maker Think announced that Oregon is one of eight states it is considering for a manufacturing plant for its plug-in electric Think city.

“Oregon welcomes the partnership with Mitsubishi as we transition to the next generation in vehicle technology. Together, we can build a consistent and reliable infrastructure so Oregonians can make the switch seamlessly to electric vehicles,” Gov. Ted Kulongoski said in a news release. “The partnership shows that a state can create opportunity for its commitment to a greener future — wins for our economy and our environment.”

The state Department of Transportation last week issued a first-of-its kind solicitation for manufacturers of electric charging stations. The idea is to use the state as a central clearinghouse for charging station manufacturing in order to avoid deployment of competing technologies.

Also part of the electric vehicle partnership is Portland General Electric Co., which has already deployed more than a dozen charging stations across the Portland metro area and Salem.

Nissan is currently present in New York the 370Z Roadster and the 370Z Nismo Edition. Carscoop who put their hands on videos of the gear we named the book as is, ie without the sound which is a shame for the VQ that the experience does not live far. A real shame because with a new exhaust, it makes 350 hp on the Nismo.

Hardcore J8 MILSPEC goes on sale in limited productions in US

Take a normal Jeep, tack on some tow loops that are rated for helicopter use, an air filter capable of running as long as five hours in zero visibility dust storms and remote-mounted batteries and you got the American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) J8 MILSPEC. Designed for off road use, these “Rolling chassis” can be outfitted with either a VM 2.8-liter diesel engine rated at 174 hp and 339 lb.-ft.of torque or a 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI rated at 330 hp and 375 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engine choices will use a 5 speed automatic transmission.

Designed for military use, the J8 was designed to pass one of the world's toughest durability cycles, which is three times more severe than what civilian applications must endure. The axles are both beefed up to a heavy duty Dana 44 front and a Dana 60 rear axle equipped with Dodge Ram brakes. The frame is built for severe use and the rear suspension uses leaf springs to facilitate more than a 2,500 lb. payload capacity and a 3,500 lb. tow rating.

Opel, a EU division of GM, heading to Abu Dhabi????

We all know that Opel, a European division of General Motors, is looking for a company to buy it or a sugar daddy to provide it with much needed cash. It appears that it may be the sugar daddy option.

Reports from a German newspaper and Reuters are saying that the royal family of Abu Dhabi is interested in investing money in Opel. The company, which also controls the British brand Vauxhall, is said to need ~4.4 Billion dollars to avoid closing plants and laying off hundreds of workers.

Initially, the German government repeatedly said it has no interest in acquiring any part of GM's struggling subsidiary. In the last day of March, however, Deputy Chancellor Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Germany wants a helping hand from EU countries in owning Opel, by purchasing stake of up to 29 percent in the German brand.

So far, as you all know by now, no official decision has been made. The future of the German manufacturer still hangs in the balance and no one knows anymore who is pulling the strings. The Arabian investor theory is (if it will come true), by far, a beacon of light.

Fisker Electric Vehicle Company Gets 64Mil in investment cash

With all the talk about Tesla’s Electric vehicles, someone needs to look in the rear view mirror. leblogauto is reporting that the Irvine, CA company has secured 64 Mil in funding. European consortium and the U.S. Eco-Drive Partners LLC and Kleiner Perkins confirm and reinforce their commitments in the development of these two models in the catalog of the small manufacturer whose sweet way continues on the right track.

As to the first deliveries of the Karma sedan, they finally occur a little later than expected in early next year against the end of 2009 as expected at first. Investors therefore believe the potential of rechargeable hybrid on U.S. soil: a good thing despite the unfavorable economic environment in its entirety.

Runaway Corvette crashes into 8 parked cars in S Philly. Vid

What a shame. A runaway rental car driver smashes a corvette into 8 parked cars this morning. The tow truck driver noted that it has a Hertz GPS system in it and was afraid to move it because of the damage. Police are still looking for the driver. Hopefully the got the extra insurance.

GM denied that the Chinese site wishes to purchase the “Buick” name only

Yesterday, reports had quoted the general in China joint venture partner SAIC that they do not rule out the purchase of "Buick" name to use the brand.

Automobile industry analyst Jia Xinguang believed that the company has permitted the Shanghai general use of the general technology and the brand, and necessity don’t have to buys the right to use the name. (Based on my loose translation)

Chrysler bankruptcy risk greater than 70%

Before operating your vehicle or contacting your dealership with concerns regarding your vehicle’s operations, please carefully read your Owner’s Manual, Nissan GT-R Warranty Booklet, and the Service and Maintenance Guide for necessary additional information concerning the proper operation, operational characteristics (including different types of sounds, noises or wear which are normal for this vehicle) and service and maintenance requirements.
Because the Nissan GT-R is a high performance sports car, some of the vehicle’s systems operate differently and exhibit different characteristics than less sophisticated vehicles. For example (not intended as a comprehensive list – please refer to your owner’s manual):
1. Brakes
< The brake system is designed for and uses materials which enhance maximum performance under a wide range of operating conditions. Brake sounds such as squeaks and squeals during use are to be expected on this vehicle; this characteristic is intrinsic to this vehicle and cannot be eliminated. The rate of pad and rotor wear may also be greater than you have experienced on other vehicles.
2. Suspension
< The suspension and tires are specially designed for the Nissan GT-R and are designed and calibrated for maximum road performance. The tires and suspension are calibrated to deliver vehicle performance, not a premium luxury ride. As a result, there will be more, different and louder sounds and road feel from the tires and suspension than with other vehicles. These conditions are normal and are to be expected. Different road surfaces will increase or moderate the road noise.
3. Transmission
< Due to the performance capabilities and requirements of the GT-R, the sequential six-speed dual clutch transmission is unlike a typical automatic transmission. You will likely hear pronounced mechanical sounds from the transmission, particularly at slow speeds, at idle and in neutral. This condition is normal.
< This vehicle is equipped with hill start assist. This system automatically keeps the brakes applied to help prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards in the time it takes to release the brake pedal and apply the accelerator pedal when the vehicle is stopped on a hill. Hill start assist is designed to hold the vehicle for only a short period of time and is not a substitute for proper driving technique.
4. Fuel Filler
< When filling the Nissan GT-R with fuel, do not top off the fuel tank after the automatic shutoff activates. It is possible that spills will occur should the fuel tank continue to be filled beyond the automatic shut-off.
5. Driver Break-in Period
< The Nissan GT-R requires a special break-in schedule to obtain maximum engine performance and to ensure the future reliability and maximized economy of your new vehicle. Failure to follow these recommendations may result in shortened engine life, reduced engine performance or damage resulting in repairs not covered by your warranty. Refer to the Owner’s Manual for details regarding the break-in period.
Special Maintenance & Warranty
The Nissan GT-R is specially designed and engineered to maximize its performance capabilities and has unique features and service requirements
requiring specially trained technicians and some specialized equipment.
1. Warranty
< All warranty repairs may only be completed at a Nissan Certified GT-R dealership, and it is most highly recommended that all services be performed by a Nissan Certified GT-R dealer.
2. Delivery
< Your GT-R’s proper operation, including its engine and suspension settings, was specially tested by Nissan after production. Your vehicle will therefore be delivered with some mileage reflected on the odometer.
3. Performance Optimization Services
< In addition to regular periodic maintenance recommended by Nissan, the Nissan GT-R requires the following special inspections to be completed at a Certified GT-R dealership at the assigned intervals. Failing to timely have these services performed will affect both your warranty coverage and your continued proper operation of and satisfaction with your GT-R:
Measurement and adjustment, if needed, of wheel alignment
Engine settings
Transmission settings
< These inspections are required at the following intervals: 1,000 miles, 12 months, 24 months and 36 months. As set out in the GT-R Owner’s Manual and Service Maintenance Guide, these Performance Optimization Services will be completed free of charge.
4. Maintenance Costs
< Engine/Transmission: As a high performance sports car, the cost of maintaining the Nissan GT-R (parts and labor costs) will be higher than other vehicles. Among those requirements are:
The VR38 engine, with its plasma-sprayed bores, was developed using Mobil 1 (0W-40, 100% synthetic) motor oil. This oil should be used to ensure proper engine operation and durability.
The VDC unit and other related parts were specially designed for R35 Special 2 Brake Fluid. This brake fluid should be used to ensure the best performance and proper operation of the vehicle.
Genuine Nissan Transmission Oil R35 Special (100% synthetic) is unique to the Nissan GT-R and was specially developed to maximize the friction characteristics of the clutch and the lubrication of the gear bearings. This fluid is required and the use of additives is prohibited.
To efficiently transfer high power to each axle and to protect the GT-R’s mechanical limited slip differential, Castrol SAF-XJ 75W-140 (100% synthetic) high viscosity gear oil was used.
Please also note that the coolant mixture ratio impacts cooling performance and freezing temperature. See the Owner’s Manual for proper coolant mixture ratio.
< Brakes: The Nissan GT-R’s rotors are cross-drilled with six-piston front and four-piston rear floating calipers, helping to achieve excellent stopping performance and fade resistance. The rotors are not designed to be machined, therefore, all four sets of brake pads and rotors should be replaced at the same time. This is normal maintenance for this vehicle.
< Tires: The Nissan GT-R is equipped with high performance, low profile, run-flat tires that are optimized for performance and handling. The life of these tires will be less than those of tires installed on a typical vehicle; and you are likely to experience reduced tread life, uneven tire wear and tire noise regardless of the type of tire used. In many situations it may be necessary to replace all four tires if only one tire is worn or damaged.
5. Body Repairs
< Due to the types of materials used for the body and given the precise assembly of the vehicle, body damage requiring certain repairs will need to be completed at a GT-R Certified body shop. Your Nissan Certified GT-R dealership can direct you to a qualified body shop. Because of the specialized body repair requirements, it may not be unusual for the nearest GT-R Certified body shop to be a considerable distance from either the Nissan Certified GT-R dealership or your current location, requiring additional vehicle transport at your expense. Additionally, repair times for body work may require more time than you may have experienced with other vehicles.
6. Data Recorders
< The Nissan GT-R is equipped with a Vehicle Status Data Recorder which is capable of recording the vehicle’s operating conditions and monitoring component replacement or reprogramming and may be used to perform and administer warranty repairs. Other vehicle operational information may be logged in the Electronic Control Module and the Transmission Control Module which may also be accessed during investigations into component failure and in performing and administering warranty repairs. Additionally, the Nissan GT-R is equipped with an Event Data Recorder which records crash data in the event of a crash.
Advisory of MY2010 Specification Change
The MY2010 Nissan GT-R features enhanced programming that will optimize clutch-engagement control for improved drivability. The maximum RPM for initial start with VDC ON has been increased, providing increased power at launch with smooth and powerful acceleration which will be improved compared to the original specification MY2009 vehicles prior to implementation of this upgrade. Maximum RPM at launch with VDC OFF (which should only be used when stuck in snow or mud) has been decreased, and acceleration with VDC OFF will be moderated.
The GT-R will continue to offer supercar characteristics of exceptional handling, maneuvering, and overall driving experience. You are reminded to drive safely and obey all traffic laws. The GT-R Owner’s Manual expressly warns against driving with the VDC OFF (except to free the vehicle when stuck in mud or snow) to avoid damage. Repairs for damage caused by driving with VDC OFF are expressly excluded under the terms of the Nissan GT-R New Car Limited Warranty. To avoid risk for such repairs, you are reminded to drive with VDC ON at all times. Except when stuck, there is no reason to be driving with VDC OFF.
Exclusions and Limitations to Manufacturers Warranty
Please read your GT-R Warranty Information Booklet carefully. The Nissan GT-R warranty provides you with extensive coverage when the vehicle is operated in accordance with the Owner’s Manual. The warranty includes a number of other specific conditions, exclusions and limitations, which include (but are not limited to) exclusions due to failures resulting from:
< Racing, competitive driving of any sort and/or any use on a track or airstrip, or otherwise not operating or maintaining the vehicle as set out in the Owner’s Manual and Service and Maintenance Guide;
< Operating the vehicle with the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) off, except when rocking vehicle when stuck in mud or snow;
< Not adhering to the service and maintenance requirements set out in the Nissan GT-R Owner’s Manual and the Service and Maintenance Guide, including failures resulting from the use of non-Genuine Nissan Parts or required or recommended fluids;
< Improper repairs or services rendered at facilities other than Nissan Certified GT-R dealerships;
< Failing to have the Performance Optimization Services completed in a timely manner;
< Genuine Nissan Parts not intended for use on the GT-R, including NISMO parts not specifically designed and manufactured for application to the GT-R, or any non-Genuine Nissan Parts;
< Replacing a GT-R special specification part with a non-GT-R special specification part (see GT-R Owner’s Manual for the list of GT-R special specification parts);
< Operating the GT-R on a dynamometer, except a dynamometer test performed to comply with applicable local law for emissions testing.
Additionally, some modifications will VOID your GT-R New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage. Read your warranty information booklet carefully for specific details of all terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
Important: Additional Exclusion and Warranty Voiding
Damage to the power train, or any drive train component(s) that occurs when there is a record in the Vehicle System Data Recorder (VSDR) that the vehicle was driven with the VDC off during the period when the damage was incurred is excluded from coverage under this warranty.
Adding, replacing, reprogramming, attempting to reprogram, altering or disconnecting any computer, control unit, or electronic module or deleting any
or all stored information in any computer, control unit, or electronic module, or denying access to any data or information stored in any computer, control unit, or electronic module VOIDS ALL COVERAGE under the 2010 Nissan GT-R New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Such actions are also "misuse" and “tampering” as those terms are used under "What Is Not Covered" in the warranty. See your Owners Manual for additional important information and related warnings

MOY concept is made for generation who uses technology as a means to express themselves and communicate with others. The idea behind MOY concept is that everyone can design their own car on their own computer and then apply the design to the vehicle using wireless data transfer or share it with other people through web-site, forum, e-mail etc. To those who lack the necessary skills or time to create their own design, we offer the option of downloading ready made designs. The vehicles are interconnected, so the change is possible in motion. Movement recognition technology enables us to draw on the car in real time. Since MOY can display both static images and videos, it can be used as a new medium of promotion. Vehicle is powered by batteries that charge electro motors set in wheels and controlled by drive-by-wire technology.
